Short update

I have barely touched my novel since the birth of my daughter, mainly because I don't have the time or the brainpower (from sleep deprivation) right now. I will pick it up again soon, I hope. It's even tough to read the novel I was working on reading before, since I need mostly quiet to read and mostly quiet wakes her up. So my days have been spent taking care of Lyra, watching tv/movies, and occasionally getting some exercise. The weather is becoming quite cold and windy, and since she doesn't really fit into any of her super warm clothes yet I'm reluctant to take her outside for very long.
A side effect of having a baby is losing most of your friends, and I've certainly figured that out the hard way. It's just as well, I guess, since she keeps me pretty busy most days and I'd just end up asking a friend who was visiting to help out with her anyway. My husband is out to sea for a short test cruise so it's just me and the baby for a little while; I have no idea how I'm going to do this again for three months next year when he's on his final deployment.
